His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al-Khulaifi, Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, conducted an official visit to the Kingdom of Sweden, where he participated in a roundtable organized by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) on the topic of Qatar’s leading role in mediation and conflict resolution.
The roundtable was attended by high-level representatives from the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Parliament, as well as ambassadors, members of the diplomatic corps, Nordic mediation experts, and representatives from prominent think tanks across Sweden.
During his visit, His Excellency held a series of high-level meetings with senior Swedish officials. He met with Maria Malmer Stenergards, Swedish Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden, and H.E. Mr. Johan Forssell, Minister for Migration, in the presence of H.E. Ambassador Nadia Ahmed Al-Sheebi, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Kingdom of Sweden.
His Excellency also held talks with members of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Swedish Parliament, where both sides exchanged views on regional and international developments of mutual interest and discussed ways to enhance parliamentary and diplomatic cooperation between the two countries.
On the following day, His Excellency met with H.E. Ms. Annika Brändström, Acting National Security Advisor at the Office of the Prime Minister of Sweden, where they discussed key regional and international issues and reaffirmed the importance of continued coordination and consultation between Qatar and Sweden.
This visit underscores the depth of bilateral relations between the State of Qatar and the Kingdom of Sweden and highlights both countries’ shared commitment to strengthening cooperation in foreign policy, migration, peacebuilding, and international mediation.
