Museums and theaters

The Association of Swedish Museums works to safeguard and further the communal interests of the museum sector. To achieve this, the association has two focus areas: Member benefits and Promotion).
RSM was founded in December 2004 on the initiative of the joint working council for the central museums, county museums and municipal museums. It is a non-profit Association and its activities are financed through membership fees and in some cases through specific projects which receive external finance. Added tax

There's an added tax on most commercial products between 10% and 20%. This value can be refund at the airport when you leave Sweden. For more information click here:

  • Ask the retailer to provide you with a receipts for your purchases.
  • You have to agree with the retailer about the recovery method (cash or credit card).
  • Before leaving the country, you have to present the receipts for your purchases to tax recovery officer, with your passport. The officer will then certify the documents.

You may be asked to show the purchases before shipping so be aware of it.
Be at the custom Office in time, for  long queue at the tax recovery may happened and you may be late for your scheduled flight.
